"We have had such a fun time helping out at Beehive, and we are so happy to have the opportunity to celebrate Beehive's 44th Birthday. It was lovely seeing the whole Beehive Community gather together to celebrate this milestone. The activities Beehive offers are engaging and cater for everyone. It is lovely to see everyone lending a helping hand, packing mail, labelling wine bottles - all valued and necessary jobs in the community. We would like to thank Ann and Brendan for welcoming us into Beehive - their commitment and passion for their jobs is evident in their day-to-day running of Beehive Industries, and without them, as well as the other staff, Beehive would not be the wonderful place it is today." ~ Sophie, Naula, Jemma, Lauren, and Annabel On the 17th of March 2015 Beehive Industries celebrated their 44th birthday. A special lunch was held and featured a scrumptious cake. This day we celebrate the achievements and influence Beehive has made on the lives of those it serves. Beehive was founded in 1971 under the chairmanship of Alderman Mrs Joan Pilone from Sydney City Council and has since flourished from its days as a small chatroom in the QVB. It now boasts a fully functioning kitchen, numerous activities including pool, Foxtel, a library, Bingo and computer training rooms as well as commercial packaging assembly and mail-house operation. It is clear that the bonds between each Beehiver has been strengthened as the community has developed. We are excited to see the achievements Beehive will make in the future and we are sure the organisation can only grow bigger and better. Painting and Drawing Classes
